National Center on Sleep Disorders Research (NCSDR)
The NCSDR, located within the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), focuses on research, education, technology transfer, and coordination of policies related to sleep disorders. The Web site features workshop summaries, publications, fact sheets, and an interactive sleep quiz. Site visitors may also sign up to receive site updates via e-mail.
American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM)
This professional membership organization is dedicated to the advancement of sleep research and public and professional education. For the public, the Web site features information and resources including fact sheets, a sleep quiz, and a sleep center locator.
National Sleep Foundation (NSF)
The NSF is a nonprofit organization dedicated to raising awareness of the importance of sleep, helping people practice good sleep habits, and helping them recognize the signs of sleep problems so that they can be properly diagnosed and treated. The NSF Web site provides information about the importance of sleep as well as a sleep diary and a daytime drowsiness test.
